Carrick said: “We thought the season was going to turn.
We have thought that all season.
“We still believe it will. We still believe results will come for us.
“We have had success over the years. It comes easy when you have success.
“You have to deal with the down times as well. You have to respect both and deal with them.
“We will pick ourselves up. That is what we do. This is the business we are in”

Carrick, 32, pointed to the reaction after Bent’s equaliser to prove that the players are hurting just as much as the fans.
United responded to Steve Sidwell’s opener through second-half strikes from Robin van Persie and Carrick before Bent nodded in.
The England international said: “Of course the players care. It’s the pride we have in ourselves and each other.
“No-one wants to go through a spell when people are questioning you and things are going wrong.
“But we have had enough success over the years that we retain a belief in ourselves when things are not going well.
“We care just as much, if not more, than anybody else.”
United could be further behind the top four if they fail to beat rivals Arsenal tomorrow night.
And Carrick believes United will relish the chance to bounce back at the Emirates Stadium.
He added: “It seems like set back after set back at the moment.
“But we have a big game now and the only way to deal with it is to move on.”
