Hull are without the services of Paul McShane for the visit of Liverpool with Steve Bruce confirming that the defender will be out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury. James Chester is still working his way back to fitness and it means Abdoulaye Faye and Alex Bruce are battling it out to replace McShane and partner Curtis Davies in central defence.
Robert Koren and George Boyd may get another opportunity to impress in the wide rules or as support striker to Yannick Sagbo upfront, while Robbie Brady has been passed fit after being withdrawn at half-time last week.
With the news that Jose Enrique is ruled out for 10 weeks after knee surgery, Jon Flanagan is set to earn a second consecutive start after his Merseyside derby performance won high praise from Brendan Rodgers.
Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger are expected to keep the central defensive roles, whilst upfront, Daniel Sturridge should be back in the starting XI after recovering from a dead leg to score the equaliser late off the bench against Everton. This would likely see Joe Allen dropped back to the bench, with Jordan Henderson and Phillipe Coutinho maintaining their roles on the right and left wings respectively.
