Norwich return from the international break hoping to build on their 1-1 draw at Tottenham with victory against West Ham. Chris Hughton’s men are still awaiting their first win of the new Premier League campaign, after an opening-day 5-0 defeat to Fulham was followed by draws against QPR and Spurs. In contrast, although Sam Allardyce's West Ham have won both home games, they were on the receiving end of a thrashing from Swansea in their only Premier League away game of the season. The Hammers, however, are unbeaten in the last five meetings with Norwich. Their most recent success came in January 2006, when goals from Hayden Mullins and Bobby Zamora earned an FA Cup thirdround victory at Carrow Road as they began their journey to the final.

• Norwich are only the sixth team in the history of the Premier League who have not recieved a yellow or red card in their opening three games.
• West Ham netted more goals from set pieces than any other side in the Championship in 2011-12 (33) and three of the four goals they have netted this season have come from dead balls.

Russell Martin has shrugged off the knock that forced him to miss Scotland’s recent internationals. Chris Hughton has admitted the XI that started against Spurs are “in the driving seat” to continue, suggesting an unchanged line-up is on the cards for the visit of West Ham. The only worry is Simeon Jackson, who missed training after travelling back from international duty with Canada – having been afforded a rest, he is expected to continue as Grant Holt’s partner up front.

Carlton Cole is set to return to the Hammers front line with on-loan Andy Carroll set for a spell on the sidelines following the hamstring injury sustained on his debut in the 3-0 win over Fulham. Sam Allardyce has confessed that Carroll could face up to six weeks out with the injury, affording Cole the opportunity to impress. Elsewhere, the Hammers boss is set to check on the fitness of Winston Reid after his return from international duty with New Zealand but he will be expected to be in contention. Matt Jarvis will therefore be pushing for a return, then, having recovered from a thigh problem that saw him miss out on the win over Fulham.
