Two sides struggling for form meet at Ewood Park when 18th placed Blackburn host 15th placed Aston Villa. Blackburn slipped to their sixth away defeat in the Premier League this season when going down 3-0 at Manchester City last weekend and remain in the relegation zone. But Rovers have won two of their last three home league encounters and chase back-to-back wins at Ewood Park following their recent 3-2 success over QPR. Villa are a club in turmoil and have won just twice in their last 10 games. Alex McLeish is coming under increasing pressure from fans to turn things around for the Villans, as they edge closer to joining the battle at the bottom. Their away form has been marginally better than their home form, with three wins, seven draws and only three defeats on the road.

• Blackburn are the only team in the top four divisions in England not to have kept a clean sheet this season. If they concede against Villa it will be the longest streak without a clean sheet in the top flight since QPR's all-time record of 39 matches in 1968-69.
• Aston Villa are the only team not to have scored from a corner in the Premier League this season, but they have conceded the joint-most goals from corners (11) along with Bolton.
