Last season's Championship winners, Reading, have found life tough since returning to the Premier League and, like QPR, have yet to collect a win. The Royals have won none of their last six Premier League matches at the Madejski Stadium, which includes their last spell in the top flight. Brian McDermott, however, will have been encouraged by his team's performances in general and will hope a first three points are finally on the horizon. Fulham have enjoyed a positive start to the season and, after losing their opening two away games, won at Wigan Athletic before drawing 2-2 at another promoted side Southampton in their last match on the road. Martin Jol's side will therefore hope they can find some consistency and win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they visit.

Pavel Pogrebnyak scored six goals from seven shots on target last season for Fulham in the Premier League and has two goals from four accurate attempts for Reading this term.
Dimitar Berbatov scored four goals in his last Premier League match against Reading, in Tottenham's 6-4 home win in December 2007.

Adam Federici returned to U21 action earlier this week and could be pushing for a recall between the sticks. Brian McDermott has confirmed that he's back in contention to compete with Alex McCarthy for a start in goal. The Reading boss has confirmed that Jem Karacan is ruled out of this one with his knee injury but stated that he hoped the rest of the squad would be fit and available. That could mean a return for Noel Hunt who missed out at Anfield due to a knock, but Jason Roberts will also be pushing for a first start since April.

A McCarthy • S Cummings, G Gorkss, A Mariappa, N Shorey • J Kebe, D Guthrie, M Leigertwood, J McAnuff • J Roberts, P Pogrebnyak

Martin Jol has revealed that, aside from Simon Davies, he has a fully-fit squad to choose from. This means that Damien Duff back in contention after the Irishman missed the victory over Villa through illness. Duff’s return could see Hugo Rodallega or Mladen Petric drop to the bench to make way. Chris Baird seems set to hold onto his midfield berth here, despite the return to fitness of Mahamadou Diarra.

M Schwarzer • S Riether, A Hughes, B Hangeland, JA Riise • D Duff, S Sidwell, C Baird, K Richardson • M Petric, D Berbatov
