Liverpool go in search of a much-needed win when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Chris Hughton's Norwich. Both Hughton and Brendan Rodgers are still waiting for their first Premier League victory in charge of their current clubs and defeat would leave the loser in the relegation zone. WBA were beaten at the beginning of Liverpool's League Cup defence in midweek but the Premier League is the priority. And Rodgers will be pleased to know he has inherited a club record of having won five and lost none of the last six Premier League matches against Norwich. Liverpool are also unbeaten in their last four visits to Carrow Road, winning the last three in a row, including Luis Suarez's hat-trick in this fixture last season. Norwich sit just one place and point above relegation zone occupants Liverpool but Doncaster were defeated in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday and there could be some momentum.

• Only Norwich (3.6%) have a worse chance conversion rate than Liverpool (6%).

Norwich City defender Sebastien Bassong is touch and go to feature in their clash with Liverpool. Bassong suffered a hamstring injury last weekend against Newcastle and may not feature, with Michael Turner the most likely replacement if he doesn’t pull through. Hughton must also decide whether to recall Grant Holt after dropping his skipper for the first time this season and opting for a 4-5-1 last weekend, while Anthony Pilkington's fitness will be monitored after he missed out due to a groin problem against the Magpies.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes Daniel Agger and Fabio Borini could shake off injuries in time for this weekend's Premier League clash against Norwich. Jose Enrique looks set for a first-team return after Martin Kelly sustained knee ligament damage last weekend. Jonjo Shelvey’s three-match suspension should hand Nuri Sahin a chance to establish himself in the first XI.
