Norwich boss Chris Hughton takes the dug-out at Carrow Road for the first time in a competitive match and he will be desperate to eradicate last weekend’s season-opening defeat at Fulham from his mind. The Canaries looked all at sea at times, and not even a tactical change when two down at half-time could spare their blushes as Fulham ran riot on their way to a 5-0 win. A clean sheet would be a good start, but they have been a rare feat for Norwich, with just one in their last 15 league games.

Hughton's opposite number, Mark Hughes, had a similarly miserable start to the season when his side conceded five without troubling the scorers themselves at home to Swansea City. The omens are not good as QPR hit the road, with Rangers having taken just two points from a possible previous 39 away from home. However Djibril Cisse may provide some hope, having scored four goals in their previous five away games.

Norwich have not lost both of their opening games of the season since 1997-98.
QPR are looking to avoid losing their opening two league games of a season for the first time since 1995-96.

Chris Hughton has confirmed that both Javier Garrido and Sebastien Bassong are in contention to make their debuts against QPR following the completion of their moves this week. Elliot Bennett is the only new injury concern ahead of the weekend, he has a knock to his knee that will need to be assessed. Wes Hoolahan will be pushing for a place in the starting line-up, having only made the bench against Fulham last time out. Steven Whittaker, midfielders Jacob Butterfield and David Fox and Elliott Ward, the defender, all continue their rehabilitation.

Mark Hughes could be set to hand Jose Bosingwa a debut at right-back after his defence shipped five at home to Swansea last weekend. On-loan Fabio da Silva looks set to continue at left-back for the trip to Norwich, although Armand Traore is not fit and available. Only Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer are definite absentees as they both lack match sharpness following long injury lay-offs.
