With only two of the bottom five in Premier League action this weekend, Wigan will have the chance to climb out of the drop zone when they face West Brom. Victory for the Latics would be enough to lift them off the bottom of the division and above the relegation trapdoor for the first time since December. Roberto Martinez's side have, however, won just one of their last 13 league games, with six defeats suffered during that run. Defeat at Manchester United last week spelt the end of three successive Premier League wins for West Brom - a loss which saw them slip six places in the table. Their record against Wigan is not the best, having won two of seven Premier League meetings and none of the last three. The Baggies have lost 14 points from winning positions this season and had they gone on to win all of those games, they would be level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal.
• No team with fewer than 12 points after 14 Premier League home games has ever survived in the Premier League (Wigan have 9).
• Roy Hodgson's men have 35 points from 28 games - it represents their best ever points total at this stage of a Premier League season.
