Under-21s back in action
Manchester United's Under-21s return to league action on Monday night with a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton.
The Reds have been without a Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixture since 16 September and have had only three matches in the division all season. Hence, the Merseyside assignment is a welcome one for Warren Joyce's defending champions and an opportunity to start climbing the table.
Will Keane is likely to be out to continue his bid to regain full fitness after returning from a long-term injury lay-off with a bang.
The England Under-21 international has scored four goals in three games since being welcomed back into the fold after a frustrating spell on the sidelines with knee ligament damage.

"Will has got to keep working now and look to build his fitness levels to get him back to his previous level as quickly as possible," Joyce explained to Inside United. "That is the bigger picture with him.
"I don't think there was a better player at his age in the country at the time he got injured, so we're mindful that the most important thing is getting him back to that level.
"Then he's got to kick on again to see how close he can get to the first team."

Manchester United: Amos; Varela, Thorpe, M.Keane, Fabio; Lawrence (Weir 76′), Ekangamene, Anderson (Blackett 62′), Cole, James; W.Keane
Substitutes Not Used: Barmby, Sutherland, Love.

U21 REPORT: Everton 0-0 Manchester United(October 21, 2013)
Manchester United got a point from their 0-0 draw with Everton at Goodison Park after returning to Barclays U21 Premier League action this evening. The Toffee’s hit the woodwork twice during the second half of the match, but United were the team to beat in the first half, despite not finding the back of the net. Warren Joyce had first team players Anderson and Fabio da Silva in the starting eleven this evening and there were some positives to be taken from the match, which was a rare scoreless draw for Joyces’ side.
The first half was United’s with them in control of the match and looking to secure all three points on offer. Fabio was a threat to the home side throughout the match and the Everton keeper, Mason Stringthorpe was the busiest goalkeeper during the match. He made saves from both Keane twins during the early part of the match. Ben Amos was also on his guard after Hallam Hope had a clear shot and Tony Hibbert having a chance following a corner by the home side. United used Fabio on the attack, he created a chance that Tom Lawrence hit wide of the mark and also set up Anderson, but his shot hit the back of Hibbert and not the back of the net!
Will Keane was also up for changing the score, but his shot was wide of the target, in what looked to be an off night for the young Red Devils. Larnell Cole also was wide of the mark. Lawrence was gifted with an error by Stringthorpe but hit the ball into the side-netting after the keeper rushed from his goal in his attempts to claw back the error, which worked. The Everton keeper did redeem himself to deny Will Keane with a fine save. Fabio took a free-kick for United, which he hit well off target. Amos thwarted Hope with a reflex save and United went on the attack immediately after with Cole’s shot being saved after a fine pass by Fabio.
United were slow off the mark in the second half but Reece James stole possession from the home side which forced a great diving save from Stringthorpe. Tyias Browning had a lunging tackle on Will Keane, which was the right thing to do after the United striker received a through ball from Guillermo Varela. Anderson was replaced just after the hour with Tyler Blackett replacing him. Everton were starting to take control of the match after containing Fabio’s attacking threat. United nearly fell behind after Varela slipped which gave advantage to Hope but Amos saved the shot putting it past the left-hand post.
United tried the attack once again, but Everton had more than adequate defenders keeping the Red Devils at bay. Tom Lawrence was replaced by James Weir. United were spared by the woodwork late in the second half after Long robbed Michael Keane and hit his low shot past Amos. Thankfully for United it never put the home side in front. There was not to be any late drama in this match with both sides sharing the spoils of the match.

U21 REPORT: Manchester Utd Vs Fulham 2-2(October 28, 2013)
The Cottagers led 2-0 through Moussa Dembele and Muamer Tankovic but an own goal by Stephen Arthurworrey soon reduced the arrears and the late equaliser came after Fletcher was withdrawn in the 67th minute.
There were no chances of note during a quiet opening when the visitors showed exactly why they are unbeaten this season. Both teams played some neat football but it took almost half an hour for Reece James to attempt a shot that deflected behind for a corner following a lay-off by Will Keane.
From the set-piece, taken by James, Michael Keane headed back for his central defensive partner Tom Thorpe to loop a header onto the top of the net. Fulham came even closer to scoring when Buomesca Tue Na Bangna lifted a shot over Sam Johnstone that actually clipped the bar following some smart work down the right by the impressive Josh Pashley.
It proved to be only a reprieve for the Reds as, moments later, Lasse Vigen Christensen picked up a stray ball in midfield and combined with Dembele to allow the highly-rated forward to rifle past fit-again Johnstone with his left foot.
Kit Symons' side were good value for the lead at the start of the second half with Tom Richards blasting over and it was no surprise when, after a spell of pressure involved a number of corners, Tankovic was on hand to pounce from close range when one of them was headed towards him.
The champions really had to show their mettle and responded within a few minutes with Tyler Blackett speeding down the left and feeding Will Keane in the middle. Although Jesse Joronen pulled off a reflex save, the ball rebounded back into the net off Arthurworrey.
Lawrence should have bagged an equaliser after a superb link-up with Will Keane but he dragged his shot wide of an inviting target before Fletcher's final contribution was an exquisite ball over the top to Will Keane, who could not connect properly on the volley.
Back came Fulham with Dembele forcing a stop out of Johnstone and then heading a great chance off target before the keeper's hands were warmed by Ronny Minkwitz's ambitious attempt. 17-year-old Dembele almost wrapped up the points when flashing a powerful drive inches wide. United rallied and Joe Rothwell's shot was blocked by Joronen after a run by fellow substitute Saidy Janko.
Seconds later, Rothwell drove forward to pick out Michael Keane on the edge of the box and the centre-back unleashed a ferocious drive that flew into the top corner of Joronen's net to make it 2-2. It was a strike certainly worthy of at least a point in front of the watching David Beckham but the Cottagers remain unbeaten after an impressive performance.

United: Johnstone; Varela, Thorpe, M.Keane, Blackett; Cole, Ekangamene (Janko 68), D.Fletcher (Rothwell 67), James, Lawrence; W.Keane.
Subs not used: J.Pereira, Pearson, Barmby.

Manchester United came from behind to register a 2-1 win at Southampton and return from the long trip south with all three points in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League.
Lingard and Cole scored the goals.
