New role for Schmeichel
Legendary United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has been appointed as an official club ambassador.

As part of his role, the Dane will attend various events and functions on behalf of the club, promoting the work it does within the community and with its partners, sharing anecdotes from his time at Old Trafford.
Schmeichel played for United for eight years from 1991 to 1999 and his accolades include five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and a Champions League.
The iconic stopper was part of the celebrated '99 Treble-winning team and played with the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane and Denis Irwin.
Schmeichel said: "It’s a great honour to be an ambassador for Manchester United. I spent many happy years at the club and achieved some of my greatest sporting accolades whilst playing here, so I was delighted to be asked to take up this role.
"I am looking forward to working with United again and sharing my experiences, as well as catching up with some of my former team-mates."
Other United ambassadors include Sir Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Gary Neville and Andrew Cole.

David Gill moved to rule out any prospect of the England superstar being allowed to leave Old Trafford.
Rooney, 26, will be sidelined for two months after suffering an horrendously gashed leg during Saturday’s win against Fulham.
And Gill insists the striker will still be a United player when he returns to action.
He said: “Wayne is definitely not for sale and I can categorically say there has been no discussion within the club or with his agent.
“He is in a long-term contract with us and is very integral to our team.
“Wayne’s a great player who has got a bad injury — but he will come back.
“He didn’t start on Saturday for various reasons. Alex Ferguson picks the best team to win the game and that’s it.
“He’s a manager who’s been so successful and there will be rotation.
“Robin van Persie has shown the desire to play for Manchester United.
“With him, Shinji Kagawa, Nick Powell, Alexander Buttner and Angelo Henriquez, we’ve refreshed pretty well.”
Meanwhile, United boss Alex Ferguson has confirmed he expects Rooney to be sidelined for four weeks following the deep gash to his thigh sustained in Saturday’s win over Fulham.
Fergie said: “He should be back in four weeks.
“He was in yesterday. It is nothing serious on the gash. It is a bad one but he was treated quickly so we don’t expect any complications.
“And the fact it is a gash rather than a ligament or joint injury means he can do a lot of work in the gym.”
Fergie also confirmed Ashley Young, who was omitted from the England squad yesterday, had picked up a knee injury, although he was evidently not impressed at how the information became public.

Manchester United forward Robin van Persie was taken off at half-time with a suspected thigh injury in Holland’s 4-1 World Cup qualifying win in Hungary.
Holland coach Louis van Gaal was keen to play down the substitution, telling SBS6: 'We took off Robin for precautionary measures. It doesn't seem to be too serious, but you never know. We didn't want to take any risks.'
