City of Manchester Stadium
Manchester City will look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points on Saturday as they host Blackburn Rovers. With second placed Manchester United not playing until Sunday, Roberto Mancini’s team have the chance to take advantage and extend their current two-point lead. City are coming into the game off the back of their comfortable Europa League win over Porto on Wednesday and are defending a 100 per cent home league record this season. City indeed are the only club in the six major leagues in Europe to still have a 100 percent home record with 12 wins out of 12, and a 13th straight victory will equal Newcastle's Premier League best total set in the 1995-96 season. Blackburn are currently fourth from bottom, with only goal difference keeping them out of the drop zone, but have not tasted victory on the road since the impressive win at Manchester United on New Year’s Eve. Steve Kean’s side have not beaten City in any of the last seven meetings between the two teams and will do well to keep their hosts’ goalscoring options quiet, having not kept a clean sheet in any competition all season.
• Joe Hart has the best saves to shots ratio of any regular goalkeeper this season, saving 79% of shots on target faced.
• Paul Robinson has the worst saves to shots ratio of any regular goalkeeper this season, preventing just 52% of accurate attempts from beating him.
