Bolton could not build on their impressive victory at Everton as they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out. That result saw them slip back to second from bottom in the Barclays Premier League table. Liverpool made it seven home draws for the season when Stoke helped themselves to a point in a goalless draw at Anfield. The Reds’ away form in the Barclays Premier League has also been inconsistent of late, with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Aston Villa followed by a 0-0 stalemate at Wigan and then most recently a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City. Ominously for Bolton, Liverpool have won the last 10 Premier League games between the two clubs, including in August a comprehensive 3-1 victory at Anfield and last season a late 1-0 success at the Reebok Stadium.
